Fished for a couple of hours this morning. Caught a 14inch bass with a bubble gum senko, and a 15 inch bass on a large topwater popper.

I was fishing with a bubblegum color 5 inch senko. I had the hook point buried, no weights. I cast out pretty far; all I saw shallow were really small bass and bluegill. I was moving the rod up and reeling in after moving the rod down. I felt pressure and also notice the line moving away, I quickly set the hook. This nice largemouth was the catch.

I was fishing a shady area of Hopkinton State Park with a white, beaded wooly bugger. This was tied on to spinning tackle, using a clear, weighted bobber. The clear bobber will not be as visible to fish, and won't scare them as easily. I caught three crappie pretty quickly. Crappie really like shady, kind of shallow areas.

While waiting for a carp to bite, I started fishing a fast moving section of the Merrimack in Lowell. I cast into the faster current and reeled back to the seam between fast and slower current. I was using a spinning rod with a clear, weighted bobber, and a white wolly bugger tied on. I caught these 2 pumpkinseeds, and also a smallmouth bass with this technique.

This morning I fished from 8am to 9am. The rain was steady, heavy at times. I think I caught about 6 or 7 bass. I used the Rappala skitter pop, tan frog color topwater. I also used a size 8, black wooly bugger fly. I caught a big largemouth, probably about 15 or 16 inches on the topwater, and also some small largemouth. I caught 1 small largemouth on the wooly bugger. Great outing. If it was a tournament, I reached five fish in about 40 minutes. I was to the right of the beach area and right of the dike.

It was around 8:30am and I already caught a bunch of bluegill with dryflies and wetflies with a clear weighted bobber, spinning tackle. I was working the area in between the boat ramps and the beach, very weedy. I switched to a skitter pop topwater, and after a few casts I caught this largemouth. He exploded on the topwater. It was awesome.

I went to Ashland Res. at around 7am. It was only about 25-30 degrees out. Across the water from the left side of the parking area is where I was fishing. There was no ice from the shore to about 30-40 feet into the water. I cast power bait eggs onto the ice and reeled back into the water. An hour later I caught this nice trout.

I went to a pond off of Clinton Road in Hopkinton, MA at around 2:30pm. I have fished this spot before and saw this fish there before, but never caught it. My guess is that this bass was watching over a spawning area. I cast texas style rigged soft plastics. The bass would react and follow the worms but never strike. Finally I cast a Slug-go right in front of it's face and it ate it.

It was early AM 5/8/10; rain, thunder and lightning. Weather calmed by about 7AM. I decided to go to Lake Cochituate and Power Bait fish for trout. I caught a fish after my first cast, only about a 15 minute wait. It was great for me since it turned out to be a Tiger Trout, my first. I noticed action on the surface and cast a dry fly. I got a couple of bites, but saw a flash of lightning and had to leave. Great short trip though, I caught a new type of trout. I think tiger trout are a brown and brook cross.
