Sudbury Rez Early Autumn Splendor
A gorgeous early autumn afternoon at the Sud off Parmenter Road in Marlborough. Took a friend who had never fished there. He caught a smallmouth (~10 inches, first one I've seen out of there) within the first few minutes on a a dark plastic worm.
About a half hour later, during my first cast a bit farther down the shore, as soon as my Senko watermelon worm hit the water, it got slammed. After a really fun battle, I landed a largemouth about 16 inches long, 2.5 pounds.
That was it for the day fish-wise, but we had another hour or so just enjoying the sunshine as we threw our lines.
At one point an old four engine prop plane flew over the reservoir - looked like a WWII B-17 Flying Fortress. That was better than all the birds we saw all day!
