On my last fishing trip 2 weeks ago I caught a 6 pound channel cat on my 5/6 weight fly rod while fishing for sunfish for flathead bait .I was using a small red wet fly with a small piece of squid tentacle as dressing on the hook. Took about 10 minutes to boat it. Great fun! |

I hear ya. Here inArizona it's 105 to 115 degrees every day all summer. I'm doing the night thing too, but I need to be fishing in the late afternoon to catch bait for the night so I'm bait fishing in the hottest part of the day! |

Even when it's in the upper 90's , we can still catch them Cats , in Alabama . Of course you'll work up a sweat doin' it . I usually hit 'em at night , but lately I'm working nights . Gotta get 'em while they're Hot !

Hi guys, I always put out lines for cats on my fishing trips. My pb so far is a 25 pound flattie. I also fish for largemouth, smallmouth, striped, and white bass. I use fly cast, bait cast, and spinning rigs and take 8 rods on my boat, 3 bait cast, 2 fly cast, and 3 spinning. Happy Fishing!! |
